Question: What Do You Wish You Were an Expert In?

I'd could name more than a few, but I wish I had real good talent in art, I don't even have adequate talent in art. I'm also horrible at creating or playing music, but my soul doesn't call out to music like it does some people. But I've always wanted to be able to produce amazing art on my own. I can barely draw a stick figure sometimes.

What do you wish you were an expert in?

  1. I love music and wish I was musically inclined...as a kid I always wanted to play the saxophone. My grandpa learned many instruments all on his own and played the accordion while also playing a harmonica. I think he was always disappointed none of us could play music with him.

  2. Music for me too. My daughter is a great musician, but somehow it skipped a generation with me!

  3. Art, plain and simple. Because my elementary teachers criticized my stuff for being wrong without telling me why, I got very anxious and constipated about drawing and anything art until a few years ago (I'm in my young 60s). I still am unsure and nervous when I sit down to do anything artistic, but once I begin, ooh-la-la, the joy and fun. Close your brain, give in to the freedom of art, and you'll see how artistic you are, Adam. It also helps not to judge yourself or compare yourself with others. If I did, I wouldn't show any of my stuff on my blog.

  4. I would love to be able to sing. To carry a tune. I even embarrass myself singing in the car, alone!

  5. You choose very beautiful photos to display on your blog, so you do have a good appreciation of art I think. I admire people who make discoveries in health care.

  6. Art and music come to mind. You can learn both if you apply yourself. I wasn't able to go beyond stick figures either until I started practicing. It's actually a lot of fun.

  7. Foreign languages. I can speak a little French and a little Spanish, but only enough to get by. I would love to be fluent in as many languages as humanly possible.
