Photos: Painting the Spare Bathroom Blue

I would rarely use our spare bathroom in the 1.5 years in our new house. However like the other bathroom and the master bedroom, they painted it with a cheap grade paint in a ugly color I didn't like. The trim was also flat and unclean... I wanted to paint this room first, let the walls cure, and then use the bathroom to take showers while the master bathroom's paint on the wall cure. So I tackled this one first.
Like usual, I stuck with Olympic One latex paint in a semi-gloss finish. I assumed one gallon would do both bathrooms.
The color is Grandma's Sweater (787) by Benjamin Moore which we had color matched into the paint we wanted. I also painted the trim high-gloss as well. I got a new curtain for the master bathroom, so I just moved the rod into the spare bathroom when the time came right. The curtain in the first picture is what they left for us and it wasn't exactly in great shape.

  1. I like the color. I prefer a semi gloss paint as well.

  2. Looks so much nicer. We use a satin finish for most of our projects, which works nicely, too.

  4. I rather like that colour and semi-gloss paint.
We have both our bathrooms tiled from the top to bottom including the floor.

  8. The shade of blue is lovely and soothing, Adam. There's painting in my future (April/May), so I may be asking you a few questions. Have a great day!

  9. I like the color. It looks a lot like the color I painted our second bathroom.
