Photos: Our First Snow Storm of the Year

These were taken last week during our winter storm in the South. I had to work early in the morning. There wasn't a snowflake when I looked out the door at like 4 in the morning, but when I left at 4:50 it started to fall. When I got home, the roads were slush but driveable.

But it was hard to deny it came down big time for SC anyways. We're not used to driving around the ice and snow. I had to work the next morning but I called out because I didn't fell safe from any of the ice that may be lurking.

  1. good decision... at least in Canada we are used to it. Even so people have accidents.

  2. Wise decision not to go in snow if you are not used to it.

  5. You made the right choice! Driving in conditions like that is not smart.

  6. Good call. Even the experienced drivers here up north forget how to drive during the first few weeks of snowfall. There are always lots of accidents reported as soon as it starts coming down. Better to stay home safe and sound than risk your life or others in unfamiliar weather conditions.

  7. Even in Chicago, black ice was really scary.

  8. Good to be cautious. When we lived in Washington DC, the city was crippled after an inch of snow.

  9. It snowed here in Mississippi, too. Very pretty, but I stayed home for two days
    Have a great week-end!

  10. Icy roads are the worst, winter tires are a must in Canada and definitely help.

  11. Icy roads scare the heck out of me! You were smart to stay home, Adam! I've been in two bad accidents that involved ice. One a rollover, and the other we just missed going over a huge cliff into the ocean.
