Fact of the Day: Forrest Travolta

John Travolta had been the original choice for the lead role in Forrest Gump which eventually went to Tom Hanks. John Travolta later admitted that passing on it was a mistake.

  1. Somehow I can't see John Travolta in that role, it fitted Tom Hanks perfectly....or is it because I've always seen Tom Hanks in that movie?

  2. He had the opportunity to be in several movies that he passed on, and only Donnie Brasco seemed like it would have been a good fit. Travolta is a good actor, but nowhere near as talented as Tom Hanks, who aced Forrest Gump. That role was made for him. Hugs...RO

  5. I try to think what that movie would be like had travolta played that role. I don't think it would be as iconic as it is.
