Photo: Cracker Barrel Before Christmas

My mother and my wife Daisy wanted to go to Cracker Barrel when we all had the same day off, a few days before Christmas. Both of them got what they called steak tips, they love the dish but it came with onions and with the tiny tables, the smell of the onions were making me sick. I had blueberry pancakes as we got there before eleven in the morning. I can't recall ever having pancakes there, but they're okay. I much prefer IHOP's pancakes, or better yet Belgian waffles.

  1. Oh, a Belgian waffles fan! My husband loves those, too.

  2. My husband used to love their chicken dumplings, but since I started cooking them, we haven't go there since!

  3. Adam, you should try Cracker Barrel's pecan pancakes! Oh my gosh! My favorite...any time of the day! I laughed about your dog being afraid of his new Christmas toy. That was so sweet. Aren't dogs funny! We had quite a house full of people here for Christmas, and Eli was just beside himself. He is used to just seeing Poppy and me, a couple of old folks! Hope you and Daisy had a wonderful Christmas!!

  4. Onions don't bother me, but I hate sitting beside anyone eating fish.

  6. We love Cracker Barrel on a weeknight when I'm too tired to cook. I love the hash brown casserole.

  7. I have never eaten at a Cracker Barrel, though I have browsed through their country store. I like to see their new holiday decor and trinkets they put out each year.
